The current economic situation of the country isn’t nice at the moment, the need for intending couples to cut down unnecessary expenses when trying to tie the knot is very important. Often times intending couples who desire to settle down in a bid to meet up with the wedding expenses incurred a series of debts after the wedding but with this article you don’t have to owe anyone or go into debt simply because you want to settle down. As such this article will show you how to plan your wedding with as little as 100,000 naira

Although it cannot be denied that financial constraint is one of the reasons people delay their wedding however with a little amount of money one can still walk down the aisle.

Some time ago I heard about the story of a man who wanted to get married but didn’t have funds in-fact his fiancee even asked that the wedding be postponed but because he desired so much to settle down he refused to postpone the wedding, according to him he didn’t have up to 50,000 Naira when planning his wedding but the money came from places he didn’t expect and today they’re married and blessed beautiful kids.

Plan A Wedding With just 100,000

plan a wedding

I had a deep thought within me before putting up this article. I pondered if it’s possible to plan a wedding with such a tight budget of 100,000 Naira but the answer was very obvious to me, which is a big yes cause I found out that some unnecessary expenses must be reduced drastically to save cost.

However, I believe that whatever someone sets his/her mind to one would definitely achieve it.

In the course of my research, I discovered that the major items that take the most money are food, drinks, clothing, reception venue, photography/video, music, and invitation cards the amazing thing about this is one can cut down the cost of doing these things and achieve the desire of using a 100,000 to plan your wedding. The only requirement will be strict adherence to the plan no matter the pressure no adjustment should make to this plan. The plan on doing this is as seen below:

The Guests:

When you plan a wedding, an important step to staying within our budget is to reduce the number of guests at the wedding which shouldn’t be more than 100 people including friends, family, and colleagues. Invitation to the wedding should be by strict invitation with this the number of guests that will be invited to the wedding will be greatly reduced and this will help save up cost and help stick to the 100,000 Naira plan, but bear it that the more people invited to the wedding the more expensive the wedding becomes.

Cook By Yourself:

The food majority of people love to eat when attending a wedding is rice so for this purpose we shall be sticking to a half bag of rice this will be enough to serve the 100 guests stipulated earlier in our budget. This should not cost more than 9000 Naira.

Now to make sure the food goes round is to measure the food that’s been served if this can be done then there’s no problem.

Another important part of the food when you plan a wedding is the meat for this purpose we will be going for 2 cartons of frozen chicken and this can be gotten for at least 12,000 each totaling it to 24,000 for both of them. The meat should be cut into 120 pieces to make up for shortfalls when frying and serving.

Groundnut Oil:

This is another important part of preparing the food because it will be needed to fry the meats and also prepare the rice for this purpose we will be going for 4litres of groundnut oil this should cost no more than 2,200 in the open market this should be enough for preparing the food, it should be monitored strictly to ensure judicious use and avoid wastage.

Big tinned tomatoes which should cost about 1,000 will be needed to prepare the rice also fresh pepper and fresh tomatoes worth 2,000 will be required. Another requirement will be ingredients to garnish the meat and rice will also be needed.

The ingredients will be used to make the food tasty and delicious.  Also strict monitoring of the women in the kitchen

Should be ensured this is to ensure that no one is seen taking or hiding food meant to entertain the guest.

Drinks

For the purpose of our budget, we will be going for drinks that are not expensive such as non-alcoholic drinks and beers only, although people will complain you should know that even if a truck of drink is brought to the occasion people will still complain of not having enough to drink; also bags of pure water will be needed bottle water too will need to serve those on the high table which be six in number.

The Wedding Attires

For the wedding attire, the woman who’s walking down the aisle should go for a rented gown which should not cost more than 10,000 to 20,000 this depends on who you’re renting from though.

Also one can also use wedding gowns from their friends or relative as a wedding gown is often worn once but if you have the looks you can borrow from a fashion designer who needs photo shoots for her gown. This would save up costs greatly.

A budget of 5k to 7k to plan a wedding should be made for the bride to get her make-up, shoe, and other things. For the groom he has to get his things by himself by either making use of his best Jacket or borrowing from a friend for ties, shoes we assume he already has them or he can borrow from a friend.

Jewelry

For jewelry, I suggest you go for cheap rings no one has to know about it just you and your spouse, time u can get something that actually befits your status.

Wedding Cake

A wedding cake of not more than 10,000 should be enough for this.

Reception

Churches actually allow couples to make use of the church premises as the reception center. Just make sure that the whole vicinity is kept clean after the whole ceremony. So you can plan a wedding at your church or religious setting.

Invitation Cards

This can be done with bulk SMS also an invitation card can be designed and sent via email to all those invited to the wedding this should not cost more than 500 Naira each I.e 500 Naira for the bulk SMS and 500 Naira for the email

Dj/Photographer

The aspect of DJ and photographers can be covered by a friend most people will fall over themselves to become a DJ on that day. Also, a sound system which allows for a mic to be attached can be made available to you by a friend, while u can ask some with a very good phone to cover the occasion for you with this ever other aspect has been covered so there’s nothing to worry about.

The idea behind how to plan a wedding, in general, is for those who have a small budget but still want to get to have their perfect Nigerian wedding. These may or will change over time in terms of prices of foodstuff, or services you need due to the economy at that time of the year. But the overall text will give you an idea of how you can plan your wedding with a tight budget.
